will these fit

will a pair of used stock Ford 8.8" 28 spline axles with Moroso 3" stud fit a 87 t bird with a 7.5 rear end


when i see the shafts for sale some of them say its for  7.5/8.8 what i want to know is if they are interchangeable axle  shafts but it doesnt say for what year its for

or will capri shafts fit 79 to93

they *fit*, but the wheel will be tucked in 3/4 of an inch farther in the wheel well than they already are

...which will also result in your brake drums no longer fitting. You'll need the drums and backing plates from the Capri as well. The 7.5"/8.8" axles are interchangeable, so if you find a set of T-Bird axles from an 8.8 they'll fit.

Yes, but a factory 8.8 in a Cougar might be hard to find.  From what I understand the vast majority of fox cars came with 7.5 differentials.

I spent two hours this morning pulling an 8.8 assembly out of a Mark VII LSC at a junkyard (to replace my Cougar's 7.5).
