So I have bad luck with new cars. January 06, 2012, 06:04:24 PM In the first 6 weeks I owned my 2011 Focus it washiznit twice in the rear bumper. Now 6 weeks after my girlfriend and I buy a 2012 Mustang............someone hits it while it was parked in a parking garage at Northwestern University last night and takes off. A dent and scuff marks on the drivers rear quarter and bumper plus a broken driver's side tail light. Total cost to fix: $1550. At least our insurance is covering it and it's going to the body shop Monday morning. Don't buy a new car, at least a blue one.. Drive a POS beater instead. No one will hit it . Quote Selected

So I have bad luck with new cars. Reply #2 – January 06, 2012, 09:32:18 PM That sucks man, but here is my bad luck story.......I pulled ahead early with my Audi A-4 Lease (2009) and got a 2012 Model. On the drive home from the dealer my gearbox failure warning light came on. I pull over and shut off the car and restart and all is fine. A few days later i walk out of my house to find a nice se on the rear bumper from some a-hole backing into my car. Then the day of the earthquake in NY i get a a 11 inch long crack in my windshield with less than 500 miles on the car. Then Hurricane Irene comes and floods my block and i get water in the interior on the passenger side....$5K worth of damage. At this point less than 1,000 miles on her. Then a few weeks later my gear box light comes on once again and they have to replace the entire unit. (Triggered a recall) Other than that its been a perfect experience! LOL Quote Selected

Because he most likely paid a lot of money to have a nice car and it sucks when people have to ruin your nice car. Right? Doesn't matter if insurance covers it, it's unecessary damage to the car ... Little or big. Quote Selected

So I have bad luck with new cars. Reply #11 – January 08, 2012, 11:15:25 PM At least his car doesn't have a broken taillight. That costs $535! It's about a third of the cost to fix the car.Perhaps the 2011 and 2012 Mustangs have a target painted on the driver's side rear quarter that only idiots can see . Quote Selected
