I wish you lived closer, I'd cut your rotors for you. Im a machinist at the shipyard, I'd have to pull some strings but I could do it.

it's all good, i'm only payin $10 each to have the snouts milled down while i wait.. i just have to get my lazy self over there to get them done.. as well as to the junkyard to get my axles lol

it would come in handy if we were closer together for other small projects i have though.. the machine shop i established a current working relationship with wants too much to machine 'ideas'.. i contacted them about making a special prototype front hub assembly for a jeep dana 30 to run manual hubs.. they wanted 600 bucks to make 1 pair because they had to make all the measurements and what-not! i told them forget it, it's not worth it to me for a friggin pair of prototype hubs that may not work without going back to the drawing board and making necessary changes

well, it's sad to say that the poor tc won't see much love for the next month or 2.. i have a ton of orders to fill for complete rolling chassis, frames, front axles, wings and a couple kawi ZX6R's to freshen up.. 2 of the cars need to be in florida in less than 6 weeks, so it's time to hunker down and start cutting, bending and welding so the frames can get sent off to the powder coater.. when they come back, they need to be assembled, paint the body and drop the motors in, before getting loaded up in a trailer for the 1300 mile trip to florida to kick some ass.. hopefully next year i'll be paying someone else to deal with the bulk of the frame building/fabbing

Have you thouht about using early bronco hubs, they had dana 30s and manual hubs.

they don't fit the newer D30's, they're super stupid.. i was originally going to do it for my sonoma, but i snagged a matching D44/9" out of an EB someone was parting on craigslist.. unfortunately, i mentioned the manual hub idea to a few guys on another forum and they're interested in them, if they work.. they'll have to wait though, tis the season to build race cars

the front end isn't as ugly now.. it started raining shortly after, so i couldn't do the bumper :(

was thinking though.. may just spray her satin black, including all the glass/door trim/headlight bezels and paint the wheels a light-ish metallic charcoal.. that way, when i get started on the rust repair, it'll be quick and easy to keep her all in 1 color, since i use rustoleum wall paint and 15% acetone when spraying satin black

so, instead of racking my brain with hunting for cheap SN95 axles or c00ching 2 DS ranger axles, i um.. i went super cheap.. i drilled my 4 lug axles.. lmao talk about a SH*T ton of measuring, remeasuring and reremeasuring to make sure it was perfect.. only got the passenger side done today.. and only killed 1 drill bit :) but all in all, it turned out pretty freakin good.. i had to oblong 1 of the 4 lug holes, as there was no real way around doing so.. i'll just weld the back side of that particular stud so it can't shift at all and call it a day

Redrilling 4-lug to 5-lug is kind of sketchy.  I've redrilled 5-lug to 5-lug  (did the hubs on my Scorpio from 5x112 to 5x114.3) by redrilling between the existing holes.

I wouldn't consider ob-longing a hole and kinda welding the stud in place "good".  The proper way would've been to fill all the holes (or even the one that overlaps) , clean up, and redrill.

doesn't matter.. i'm just going to suck it up and get new 1's.. i fired the car up and threw it in 1st.. wobble wobble wobble.. pulled the wheel of, checked all measurements.. every stud is perfect to the thousandths.. fired the car up with the wheel off, 1st gear. wobble wobble wobble :(

i was reading up on it last night, i'm going to use an aluminum slug, slip it in the oblong hole and weld it.. punch the slug out, clean up the hole and press the stud back in.. it's common practice for cars that don't have an actual 5 lug option, from what i have been reading.. for now, it's the way to go

i think it's time to pull her off the back burner and get her going again.. i'm ditching my drilled 4 lugs axles, since i FINALLY found SN95 axles.. along with that, i'll be ditching the M7 rotors and doing the full SN95 swap up front, too.. the main reason for this, is.. i want the mark rotors for the S10.. i just have to go and get the right bearings to make it all work, they otherwise match up perfectly..

anyway, back to the car.. aside from doing the SN95 stuff, i sold my IHI and top mount and bought a precision.. i just need to get a wastegate and bov before i put it on.. i'm going to hold off on the front mount, for now.. i'm going to run it intercooler-less just to scoot around the yard ans spend the money on an esslinger adjustable cam gear.. i'll pick up the front mount as the 'final thing to do..' i'm contemplating the header now, beings i don't need the car on the road right away and i have time to build it (we have an 04 taurus and my lo-lux now).. i also want to knock out some body work, rust repair and remove all the sound deadening before she starts cruising the streets.. most importantly, i want to at least cut and plate the rotting strut towers, until i start cutting the black car apart.. then i'll pull the motor, clean her up, freshen the bottom end, do some head work, slide in a boport 2.5 cam and put her back together

my new hair drier ;)

screw the SN95 front stuff, i want this thing rolling by this weekend.. picking up my pads, rear rotors and wheel bearings tomorrow, then my SN95 axles sometime between tomorrow and friday.. i have to drill and tap my manifold, because 2 of the studs snapped when i pulled the IHI off when i sold it.. then i can start the new turbo setup and get her moving again.. it'll be nice to spin the tires down the driveway again
