I'd imagine if it was a 5 speed it would have been a tad more fun.

another angle.

I was planning on buying her another car and stealing this for my DD. Got  near 33mpg hwy driving to and from work with it (took me two weeks to get all the clutch parts for my explorer)

New interior, fresh motor, fresh transmission.... I have a feeling I might get another coupe roller to swap this stuff into... well ... maybe with a turbo and 5 speed.

Imo, get your $2500, buy another one for $500 and pocket some cash.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

The guy comes tomorrow, but he will for sure total it. I dont know what value the estimators use to land a price... kbb was like 2100 on the low end and it was a paintjob away from being completely restored, so who knows.

I think it could be fixed over the summer on my free time, but I find it hard to put effort into what is now a salvage title car.

Id rather buy it back, buy another coupe roller, and LEGO the old into the new.

Years back, I had a '76 Double Mistake, that washiznit similarly on the passenger side... I Kicked the door open and beat the "high" spots in with a large hammer, so it would open/close normally(a surprise in itself)... Could only roll the window down about 6" but that didn't bother me, drove it that way for over a year...
