SO 5.0L and AOD are on the ground!

With the help of a friend, we yanked the SO 5.0L and AOD last night.....started at about 5PM, worked at a leisurely pace, even spent some time helping my bro-in-law finish his 429CJ '68 F-100 and was scrubbed up and setting in the house at 9PM.

Going to pressure wash the engine bay and give it a fresh coat of paint next. Also gonna clean up some minor scale and rust on the unibody rails

Now I need to swap over the SO accessory drive to my '88 GT HO motor and bolt on the T5 then drop them in together.  I'd really like to ditch the smog pump and junk but going to keep it fully emission compliant (my area requires a visual emissions inspection).  Just not looking forward to the pedal swap.....everyone says that's the toughest part of the entire install.

The pedal swap is the hardest part, but it's not that hard. Pull the driver seat and the steering column OUT of the car, then it'll be a breeze.

Going to have some pics later today.  These were from two weeks ago when I removed motor initially.

Not done much on the car lately, been prepping the motor for install.  Went to a buddy's place last night to get some swap parts (BBK 70mm EGR/TB, BBK off road H-pipe, BBK equal length headers and some other stuff) and started talking about patching the towers.  He was doing the same thing on a fox'stang and had the K-member out......man that makes a bunch more room to work!  So, think I'm going to do the same thing to put in patches and maybe fill some unneeded holes in the process.

Motor pic...

BTW...if anyone is interested in the equal length BBK's, shoot me aPM.  I may sell them as my motor already have shorties on it.
