Got offered a Cougar for a trade, help please.

Hello, not sure if this belongs here, if it does not, I'm sorry.

My current vehicle is bust down right now and someone offered a 94 Cougar as a trade for it. I'm reading mixed reviews over the internet and hearing mix reviews from others personally. Is the 94 model worth getting? I only need for no more then a year.

What is everybody thoughts on this? Is this a yay or nay, is there something I should watch out for? Do these suck or are they legit?

Thanks!

Depends on what you have to trade for it, the car's condition, what engine does it have? All of that. We are Fox boiody guys primarily. That is an MN-12 car. Some of the guys here have, and have had this body styly, so they will chime in with what you might need to know.

I'm trading my broken down 95 GMC Sonoma for it, the guy says it still runs pretty well, and that it has a V6. Have not looked at it, will on friday though.

94's are decent. I say go for it. Have the ball joints checked on it though...

btw, http://www.tccoa.com would probably serve you better. Their forum deals with the year models that you are asking about.

How do the doors close? I have seen the hinges go bad on them. See if the transmission is still good and not needing a power flush (rumble strip fell in 3rd and 4th). Check the joints and bushings in the front and rear.

BTW, I had a 1988 T-Bird Sport way back when. I found out that it was totalled shortly after trading it in. It still has the ignition switch recall to date.
