Big problem with the Sport....

Apparently, when the skinny pedal on the right side is depressed to the floor from a dead stop, a strange thing happens all the way back at the rear of the car. ...the wide tires start to spin and the tread depth of those wide tires get more shallow every revolution that the tires make. Now, you multiply that times many, many days, the wide tires become useless due to extremely thin tread. SO, I have to take the Sport down for new rear shoes tomorrow. All because of the faulty pedal on the right. Due to the new tires, no funds for cool stuff like the new chin spoiler I need for "after paint", or other cool parts. I Usually wear New Balance tennis shoes (running shoes), and they don't weigh hardly anything, so, the problem HAS to be that darn pedal.

No, that can't be it. I've wondered about that, but it HAS to be in the pedal assembly. I've lifted both feet, nothing unusual. No unusual tread wear at all on my shoes, no tired feeling after walking a long distance, knees don't hurt..  Gotta be the pedal.

have you greased the pivot point on the pedal recently?????    this might be the cause of your problem or it could just be that your left foot is too light and your right one is too heavy :P

Well, the damage is done and the new tires were ordered Monday. Installed tomorrow. Maybe the Sport just has her own way of getting from point "A" to point "B".

Sorry, that's right up there with asking if you could take a guy's wife for a test drive. Only one pilot.

Stick a small piece of 2x4 under the pedal, that will decrease the defect.

I feel that adding wood to the car would lessen the awesomeness.

The Sport is home, washed, waxed, and letting the tire shine do it's job as we speak. Now, time for a lot of nothing today.

I think that a 3.8 CFI swap would be a better idea.

I feel a 2.3 n/a swap would be a better solution...I even have one for you. Possible trade? LOL

Sounds awesome, but what the heck would you do with the Sport's engine? It would only be good for an anchor.

Does that apparent problem cause the gas mileage to drop? LOL
