That's true. I did a lot of it with a little peer pressure from my friends.LOL. Worth it,though, and, without being pushed a little, I can say for certain, the Sport would not be where she is now.I'm very happy with the current setup. Now, all I need is to start sanding and filling and getting ready for a re-re-paint.

Tfs1 all the way. I had an E cam in my 89 gt and after I sold the chassis my friend tommy bought the motor and swapped the cam for a TFS1. The 93gt he has it in surely pulls harder than my gt and sounds much better. He seems to be very happy with it.

+1

I'd also consider the cam I'm running, the Comp Magnum 266HR. It's got an operating range of 1200-5200 rpm and makes a bunch of low end torque, which is fun on the street. My AOD has a high rev governor that allows it to shift at 5300 rpm in full auto mode, so it basically shifts at the end of the cams power band. The XE 270HR would also be a good choice. It has a little more durration than the cam I'm running but less lift so you'll get more rpm out of it.

In that case, an E303 or TFS-1 cam (TFS-1 is my choice, I've had both).. I see them both pop up frequently for a really nice price on the Corral.

This is a nice mild cam for the street and it has a good torque band. Its a good cam for a sniffer state although it is a little high on HC. Basically a good choice for a DD,

The E 303 is similar. But it is more lopy and may need a stall converter. I personally like both cams but they have to be installed and dialed in PROPERLY. You cant just throw them in and GO. Hope this is helpful

My TFS-1 cam is more lopey than my E303 was. I like it a lot though. The car can really move, and if I want to, I can make the first two gears totally useless. I installed the cam and lined the timing chain dot to dot. No issues, plenty of power, and I love it.

Meh. Run the stock h.o. cam and save money. If you want it louder run bigger exhaust.

Also the advertised range is meaningless unless you have the exact same engine. Any smaller parts or worse flow will raise or lower where the power will actually come in.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

The H.O cam is a really formidable cam. Run some 1.7 roller rockers and enjoy it. Great torque.

If you use the TFS spring upgrade DO NOT use their valve seals, guaranteed to leak oil to the cylinders! Buy new ford seals! (ask me how I know) lol
