headlight detour

So I've been thinking about this for some time, but haven't had either the coin or the time to really do much about it yet.

My idea is to take a single headlight bucket for each side, recess them in a few inches, ala SVO style, and then possibly a clear curved piece of lexan or similar to keep the aero look, inasmuch as a clear piece of plastic can go in that regard.

It's something I WILL do, but right now getting the suspension and finishing the rear 5 lug/drum brakes are higher on the "want to finish" list.

By all means, is someone else wants to do this, go ahead...I've had the idea for a coupla years already..:D

I actually like the way they are on the Sport. The only thing I'd change is a similar light setup, but a single unit. 2 big lights assemblies instead of 6 lights.

Well, I meant that the existing inner/outers would be kept...just the headlights themselves. Going to a sealed beam, recessed in, with a piece of clear over them to keep the aero look intact.

Like what you'd see on an SVO, with headlight covers, sorta...

I understand what you mean. I am having a hard time visualizing it looking "right". I always thought the SVO Stangs had something wrong with the center lights to have the recessed like that. I just didn't get it. But, that's me. Most probably do see the bigger picture better on those.
