Parting out my 83 5.0 Cougar April 27, 2011, 09:28:03 PM Hey fellas-My 83 has finally become too rusty to continue living...I have a great running 5.0/AOD combo. The engine has 120k miles on it. New rod/main bearings, water pump, high volume oil pump, new timing chain and gears, cleaned galleys. The AOD has new fluid, filter and a new stock valve body. Runs and drives nice. $500 for the drivetrain. Most body panels are shot, except the hood, trunk, and TC bumper cover (bumper core is gone). All glass is good. One clear marker (passenger side). Tail lights are good. Interior is average (drivers seat is smashed flat from my fat ass). If you need anything specific, PM me or post here. These pictures were taken last year, and the rust is worse now.Located near Mansfield, OhI am keeping the rims and tires, hitch, and the stereo (and probably the stereo trim piece, since they are so hard to find unmolested). Here's proof that it runs, lol - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vS7Hy4qBye8 Quote Selected

Parting out my 83 5.0 Cougar Reply #2 – April 29, 2011, 09:05:55 PM I don't know if you can tell in the pic, but the hood ornament is kind of unique. It was a normal 83 hood ornament until I slipped while shoveling snow and broke it off. I had a 76 (I think) glass ornament top, and it just happened to fit right on the 83 base. The spring fit and everything. Make me an offer if you are interested. Quote Selected

Parting out my 83 5.0 Cougar Reply #8 – June 17, 2011, 10:26:47 AM Sorry I haven't replied to many of you. I had a local guy who was going to buy the whole car, but I think it turned out to be a waste of time. Plus I am starting a new job Monday, so I haven't had a lot of time either... Since the car sits outside, I am waiting until the drivetrain sells before I pull any small stuff off. I don't want to get a ticket from the city for a half-disassembled car, heh. I was hoping the drivetrain would sell quicker. If I can get that sold, I will strip the car completely and sell you guys whatever you want. Quote Selected
Parting out my 83 5.0 Cougar Reply #9 – June 17, 2011, 11:18:24 AM Sorry for the side track, but I saw the tail of the 1965 Plymouth Fury I in the garage. I can see that it's a sedan, but is it a two door?My first car was a blue (pretty much the same blue as my T-bird) 1965 two door sedan Fury I (purchased by my dad in `66). I've seen only two others since `66. Quote Selected
Parting out my 83 5.0 Cougar Reply #10 – June 18, 2011, 04:34:04 PM That was my wife's daily driver 1965 fury. It had the slant 6. It actually got 20mpg average! We sold that a couple months ago. The buyer had one as her first car, and was tickled to death to find another. Quote Selected
