can a 6cyl trans fit stock 5.0 v8?

Hey I just got this 1988 T bird and it has a 6 cyl engine and the trans that it came with. I got this because my brother had a 1 1988 t bird too and had a cracked chasy and took all of his goodies out before he junked it. The goodies a 5.0 , rims and accessories. I am wondering if the transmission from the 5 cyl enigine will fit the 5.0. Please help

Can someone please help me out I just got this car and Im 17. I liked it because my brother had the same car before and now I want to hook this baby up. Give me some ideas . Thanks

Yes the AOD from a 3.8 V6 will fit the 5.0/5.8 V8s. Problem is those trannys are not built to take the abuse of the larger engines....

Hi;

You know sometimes its pretty amazing how things can come together. Take a trip to the bookstore or drugstore and grab a copy of "MUSTANG & FORDS" 6-05 issue.

They have a fair article on beefing up a C6 transmission. They also have an article on classic COUGARS.That's why I bought it :D
