88 headlight question

Greetings all!

I got a 88 cougar and my headlight housing is VERY VERY bad, as in when my brights are on, the on coming cars think I have very dim lows on :(

So yea i try to not drive the car at night cause of it being such a safety issue.

I have tried a couple of the OTC buff/clean/brighten kits from autozone, but the best i could get them was to where they are now,but still not acceptable.

So im looking for opinions or options to solve this without spending tons of cash or doing something silly like using fog lights for my headlights...seen someone driving a car locally like that.

I have searched the yards all around my area and they dont have anything for me. ANY ideas???

Try using 1000 grit and 1500 grit sand paper and wet sand the lenses. That what I did and it turned out pretty good.
