In Sept 2003 we were hit with "Hurricane Juan" which did crazy damage and then a few months later we were hit with a storm known locally as "White Juan", a snow storm that delivered 39" of snow over a 24 hour period, driven by 75MPH winds. Not technically a snow hurricane, but near enough. (Weather buffs can click on the names White Juan and Hurricane Juan for Wikipedia articles about these two storms)As for this particular storm we got 6" from an unrelated storm last night and are expecting 12-18" from this one, for a total of up to two feet in two days. The salt/plow trucks dont ever bother with hitting our lil "U" as they bust past on the main road. Solid ice = my truck into my own mailbox, effin broke my corner lamp lens which I had nightshaded the perfect amount and will never match the otherside ever again! Quote Selected

Over 600 cars were stranded on Lake S Drive and they had to shut it down for almost 12 hours. If you know anything about Chicago Lake S Drive is the busiest non highway road in the area. I live in Chicago and have not had a City of Chicago plow go down my block yet, and the snow stopped at 11am. It took me and my girlfriend almost 4 hours to clean the driveway and the walk in the front of the house. Yes I used the snow blower but it takes awhile with 3-5 foot snow drifts.Last night at 9.This morning at 11 before removing the snow.Snow got in my garage and really close to the T-bird:crazy:. That's what 60 mph winds will do.3:15 after 4+ hours of clean up. Quote Selected
