What are these two sensors? January 27, 2011, 08:18:25 PM What are the two sensors with the plugs going to them? Quote Selected
What are these two sensors? Reply #1 – January 27, 2011, 09:51:37 PM I belive the one in the manifold is either a air intake temperature sensor, or coolant temperature sensor. The one that goes forward has something to do with emissions. can't remember what. Quote Selected
What are these two sensors? Reply #2 – January 27, 2011, 09:52:11 PM The only sensor I see is the water temp. The one to the right is a fuel injecter and the one to the left goes down to some sensor on the fram rail, I beleave it has something to do with vapor can. Quote Selected

The connecter on to the left of the water temp is in wire loom with a vacuum hose that goes to the vapor can. Quote Selected
What are these two sensors? Reply #4 – January 27, 2011, 11:04:38 PM So there are two water temperature sensors on a stock 5.0 configuration? Because on the drivers side, front of the intake I have a water temp sensor/sending unit as well. It's the one that control the gauge, what does this one control? Quote Selected

It tells the ECM what temperature the engine is Quote Selected
What are these two sensors? Reply #6 – January 27, 2011, 11:17:59 PM One controls the gauge and the other is for the ECU. That sensor, the air temp and the o2s all work together to control air fuel ratio and to maximize fuel mileage. Quote Selected
What are these two sensors? Reply #7 – January 29, 2011, 03:49:14 AM go to page 55 of the evtm,, from there find all your sensors.like said, the single wire "sender" sends a variable resistance value to the temp guage.the sensor, senses temp and its internal variable resistance is sensed acted on by the computer.you should get a code for this if you pull codes with a cold motor even though it is not bad. thats why they say to pull codes with a warm motor each and every time.two independant items isolated from eachother.
