Two-Cylinder Bolt On January 25, 2011, 06:43:36 PM What stud bolts are folks currently using when doing this mod? Where are the tapping holes drilled? Quote Selected

Two-Cylinder Bolt On Reply #4 – January 26, 2011, 03:32:21 AM Quote from: CoogarXR;350849Zip ties baby... Those and duct tape were my first though, after I had a hard time trying to relocate the alternator. I'm not worried about the A/C compressor, at all, so it's now gone.88turbo, I've got to ask as it's beyond my level of expertise. Since I got my 'underbird, I've been doing more and more automotive things on my own I've just about got the heads on, but am also having issues with fitting the cylinders. The waterpump seems to be the biggest issue, as it's got nowhere else to go. Quote Selected
Two-Cylinder Bolt On Reply #5 – January 26, 2011, 07:15:31 AM You're doing it all wrong, you pull the motor forward and slide the cylinders down behind. Use a broomstick to extend the tranny shaft. Wrap the finished product with boat chain in an "X" formation to hold it to the k-member. Quote Selected

Does the boat chain cross-reference with any other type of chain? I'm not finding it in the JC Whitney catalog. Quote Selected

Two-Cylinder Bolt On Reply #11 – January 29, 2011, 08:02:25 AM So, I got the cylinders slid in behind the engine, as described in a reply above. Now I've got an issue of the front of the cylinder heads hanging over the radiator and the cylinders I installed aren't covered by anything. Also, the heads are preventing the hood from fully closing. What did I mess up? Quote Selected
Two-Cylinder Bolt On Reply #12 – January 29, 2011, 10:13:48 AM I hope its coming together ok, maybe your reading to deep into it. If your coffee pot and fridge are both plugged in then that is exactly why the cylinders are not full.check thier depth with a hook line and sinker but be careful, the pistons have teeth. Lay the head gasket on top of the hood, and trace the cylinder holes. Get a jig saw and cut the holes in the hood. Don't forget to drill the bolt holes too. Now, lay the heads on the hood, put the bolts through the heads, through the hood, and into the block. Now, not only do you have the two-cylinder bolt-on almost finished, but you have just completed the hood-head-gasket mod! You have to do this toward the end, because opening the hood again wasn't covered in my manual... Quote Selected

Should I use the other half of the cookie sheet I didn't use in the oil pan extension to cover the two cylinders? Also, what if I just cut holes in the hood for the cylinder heads? You know, holes a la 87/88 Turbo Coupe Quote Selected
