Are stock TC turbos internally gated? And what kind of header do they use? Isn't it a T3?

Yes and yes.

For better clarification, you need to specify what years you're talking about. 83-86TCs use a Garrett T3 turbo. 87-88TCs use a Warner-Ishi IHI turbo. Both have the std T3 header and both use internal wastegates. The are different though.

83-85. I'm getting one from an 85. How would you control the boost pressure? would that require an additional external boost control valve for the wastegate?

The boost pressure is regulated by the waste gate and the waste gate is controlled by the boost controller

could someone take measurements of an 87/88 intercooler and give the dimensions from the PS fender at the edge of the hood, and from the firewall down to the front?

^^^Anyone? Oh, and a potentially dumb question. Can a speed density setup be boosted? My guess is no....:(

you must have a mass air system of some kind to add boost. I will get some measurements here in the next few days.

What are you talking about? The chrysler turbos are all speed density and megasquirt is speed density.
