Tremec's website shows all the possible gear combos in those trannys and lists the torque rating on them.  I have an original Tremec TKO which I bought in 1998 for my 83.  One thing you do not want to do is confuse the TKO with the 500 or 600 as they are completely different trannys...wish I had the 600, the shifting is supposed to be much better.  Anyhow, site is here:

http://www.moderndriveline.com/Technical_Bits/tremec.htm

From here you can read that the old TKO was replaced by the 600 and the old 3550 was replaced by the 500.  Bruce is a super knowledgable guy and helped me a lot when I was chasing some vibration issues on mine.  So what you are getting is the 26 spline tranny and not the 11 spline (input shaft) and the 31 spline count on the output shaft is higher than the stock yolk on a T-5.  Sounds like you knew most of this but one never knows.

There are charts on Moden Driveline's website on the T-5's which would give you and idea of the final ratio differential between the two tranny's.
