New member January 02, 2011, 05:44:59 PM Hey guys, new here. Referred by mercury-man, via FEP. I got 2 toys, one a 79 Mercury Capri, the other that will fit in better here, is a 1984 Fila Thunderbird, with 86k original miles. Original paint minus the l/f fender. Originally a CFI 302 with an AOD, was converted by its original owner to a T-5, and last week I completed a CFI-Carb conversion. I do all my own work, mechanical and body, and usually fly by the seat of my pants with trial and error til it works. Hope to supply some info here, and get some in return. Here are some pictures from when I got it this past July. This is how she now sits with the 10 hole wheels, and snow tires. For what its worth, I daily drive this car 450 miles a week commuting. And as much as I love the T-bird, here is my baby. She has given me a time slip of 11.20@126. But at 7 mpg, the Bird is mint getting 25 plus. Quote Selected

New member Reply #8 – January 03, 2011, 07:50:28 AM Thanks for the welcome guys, and the compliments on the cars. As for the Capri, It started its life as a 3.3 auto, in bright red. 4 years ago I got it as a complete wreck. Front end caved in, interior in shreds, no brakes, no start, ect, ect. Its now an aluminum headed 11:1 347 with a tremec 3550, and an 8.8 with strange internals, spool, c-clip elims and 33 spline axles, 4.10 gears. Stock suspension minus rear control arms. Still trying to adjust them in, got a 60 foot time of 1.58 launching at 4k rpm, on a 150 shot. Doing a c-4 conversion right now, with a brake. Quote Selected
