I have FOX add December 30, 2010, 01:02:55 AM I just found this thing: http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?ct=u&car_id=291451933&dealer_id=595723&car_year=1986&pager.offset=0&search_lang=en&start_year=1981&search_type=both&distance=50&rdm=1293688161658&marketZipError=false&advanced=y&sownerid=565083&lastBeginningStartYear=1981&end_year=1989&make3=LINC&showZipError=y&make2=MERC&page_location=findacar%3A%3Aispsearchform&body_code=0&first_record=1&default_sort=yearASC&address=60638&sort_type=yearASC&awsp=false&make=FORD&seller_type=b&num_records=25&cardist=28&standard=false 1986 Ford LTD. I sooo want to buy this and DD it. Driving a 24 year old car as a DD makes a whole lot of sense right:dunce:? Quote Selected
I have FOX add Reply #1 – December 30, 2010, 06:50:34 AM I daily drive a 23 year old car. The Sport can do almost anything my wife's Maxima can do,except I don't have a heated steering wheel or seats (although it will have heated front seats after the seats are recovered). Mine even has a 10 disc CD changer, hers is only 6.LOL. Quote Selected
I have FOX add Reply #2 – December 30, 2010, 07:12:25 AM I have had 3 of those in my life, 2 were daily drivers. Very reliable, both lasted over 220k miles with no major issues. The only thing now is, they are getting hard to find in the junk yards (I think they are completely gone in my home town). Quote Selected
I have FOX add Reply #3 – December 30, 2010, 08:20:54 AM Just BLEEEPING doing it already. Go to the wash as frequently as you can, drive, enjoy, lather rinse and repeat. What do you value more, not sacrificing a vehicle to salt, or being happy with the vehicle you have to deal with every day? LOL Quote Selected

I have FOX add Reply #5 – December 30, 2010, 09:22:20 AM Well it looks like the rear defroster still works. So that is a plus! It looks comfortable. Go for it! Quote Selected
I have FOX add Reply #6 – December 30, 2010, 11:52:17 AM $3k seems like a lot for something like that...even if it is in very nice shape. Quote Selected

If not the dealer can keep it. I'm going to try to go look at it tomorrow. I bet my girlfriend is going to roll her eyes when I show it to her. She understands the T-bird/Cougar/Mark VII obsession but not the Fairmont/Zephyr/LTD/Marquis obsession. Quote Selected
I have FOX add Reply #8 – December 30, 2010, 03:34:59 PM i agree.. more than 1k is too much.. but i wouldn't even take it for that.. i'm 110% anti 4-door car lol Quote Selected
I have FOX add Reply #9 – December 30, 2010, 05:21:17 PM I would absolutely drive one of those, but I wouldn't give anywhere close to that for it. It looks like they're trying to triple their money. Quote Selected
I have FOX add Reply #10 – December 30, 2010, 05:30:29 PM Yeah not a 6 banger anyway. An LTD LX with the 5.0 H.O. and you'd be talking! Quote Selected
I have FOX add Reply #11 – December 30, 2010, 09:27:36 PM I wouldn't touch a v-6 unless you were going to swap it. They make good daily drives, and get better city in my experience, but worse freeway. And there just isn't the power. It would make a good delivery car though. I daily drive two 20 year old cars, well did. The bird is parked till I get enough for taxes/registration. Quote Selected
I have FOX add Reply #12 – December 30, 2010, 11:05:58 PM I drive a 3.8 daily right now. It does have a 4R70W though. As far as I know the LTD with the 3.8 would have a C5, same as a 3.8 T-bird or Cougar in 86. Freeway driving might be a problem, however, I do most of my driving in the city and very little on the highway. I take 2-3 long distance trips a summer so I don't think it would be so bad day to day.My girlfriend doesn't like the idea. She thinks that the LTD is ugly:crazy:. Quote Selected
