so, a little of what we do (my shop, Shadow Customs)

so, for the fun of it, i figured i would show some of the past projects that have rolled out of my shop and some of what we do. for privacy purposes, i'm not going to post any customer's cars/trucks, but will show a few of my buddy josh's projects..

91 S10 std cab shortbed. stock 2.5 4cyl, T5 with 4.11 richmond gears.traditional body drop, full F.B.S.S.(front, back, side, side) air ride, Chassis Tech 2600II Denominator bags, Suicide Doors 5 link and the list goes on. the paint was done by me with a rattle can. it just came as an idea 1 night and we decided to spray it.. he then traded the truck for the 1 you'll see below, because he has 2 kids and a std cab doesn't fit a family for 4 lol

00 S10 Extreme. (we got this already bagged, but it was done completely wrong) stock 4.3/auto with underdrive pulleys, jet chip and TB spacer. simple F.B. setup with 3 link and stock front lower control arms. the truck came with 4 different bags (not extras.. ON the truck), so we replaced them with the same Chassis Tech bags as the 91 (different combo, 2500II up front, 2600II in the back). the crossmember for the 3 link that was on the truck was made out of FENCE POST, so it was cut off and replaced with a crossmember i built, cunstructed of 1/8" plate for the ends and 2"x3"x1/4" steel tube. due to financial issues, he had to sell the truck before we could finish, so it left with the terrible wishbone for the 3-link on the rear.

how we had to rig it to load it on the trailer in order to get it to the shop.. RATCHET STRAP WIN!

fencepost fail

02 Golf GTI. only had minor work done to it, nothing cosmeticly, other than a simple respray of the paint. MAP diode mod to push 17psi instead of the stock 5psi, aftermarket blow off valve, short ram intake and re-burnt ECU.

and the 95 SBF S10 is his as well

not a very good 'portfolio'.. but that'll change by next summer, once my toys are done along with josh's projects.. i should start asking customers for permission to use photos of their stuff online

Wow,that's some crazy stuff. I don't understand it, but it looks wild. What do you do with them after all that work? I've seen some lowered trucks on air bags here. Do you guys leave the bed of the truck open or do you rebuild it with a new floor? The ones here are just left open, and it looked like an incomplete job to me. Granted, I'm 43 and have my own way I like to see things done.

I was wondering the same thing

I wish I had that much talent. I've wanted to build and sell my own cars for a loooooooong time.

these 2 left with the bed open.. neither was 100% done when he got rid of them, but the plan was to put wheels tubs and a removeable notch/bridge cover over the center.. the 91 had a tonneau cover that covered the bed to hide everything so we could show it. the S15 jimmy we're doing in the spring won't roll out until it's 100%, with the exception of a body drop and final paint.. that'll come next winter, along with some interior work.. the interior in it is literally mint so there's no point in touching it yet.. this is what it looks like now

and for anyone who lives by the 'built, not bought' persona, the 2000 above is a prime example of why every mini trucker should live by that statement.. you never know what you're getting yourself into unless you start from scratch.. i've had quite a few customers bring trucks to me that they started and either messed up, couldn't finish the right way or bought with all sorts of problems..

and here's a little info on my 88 S10 project that's sitting way back on the back burner.. end result will be 1 of a kind quad cab extended cab like so..

and the list of things to do is..
- finish stretching the cab
- cut and modify doors for the rear
- custom 1-off 5-link
- custom tubular upper and lower control arms
- F.B.S.S. air management
- sliding rag top
- full custom interior wrapped in tweed with a 50's dash (not sure what it'll come out of yet) and flaming river chrome column
- and most importantly.. ford drivetrain ;)

and that's how she sits for now

looks kinda familiar.. i'm waiting on my dad to croak so i can take his 84 yota and molest that.. been looking to get my hands on a mazda square body b-series for years, but there are hardly any around here.. only 1's i come across are half rusted into the ground s trucks

i've done a couple hardbodies and isuzu pups but they're just not something i could own.. also did an 02 tacoma, THAT i wish i could have kept lol

those b-series are a dime a dozen down here and you can buy them cheap in good condition. My buddy is sellin a b2200 i think it is and he put a rotary from a rx7 in it  wild truck.

i wish they were around here.. i guess once some of these projects are done, i'll have to start searching the whole east coast for 1 or 2.. we've done a lot of S10's for ourselves because it's hard to stand out with a 1st gen.. and he who stands out with a nice 1st gen S10/S15/blazer/jimmy, gets a lot of credit and attention.. plus they're not bad little trucks.. i could never do a ranger for the shop, though. i think they're hideous

Nice work, that's defenately some crazy stuff. I was going to ask you why not do a ranger but you already answered that. You've got skills that's for sure!

thanks lol.. i'd consider a 2nd gen ranger, but i don't think i'd keep it long.. but as it is, i'm not taking on anymore personal projects until at least 3 of my current 1's are finished
