Its been a while... New project.

Well nobody here probably remembers me but I havent visited the site for about 3 years since moving to VA and leaving my sport in PA until I could get it transported down here. Well the sport still sits in PA and Im sure the rust that was there has gotten worse.
The good news is I started working at a shop at the beginning of October and I noticed one of my coworkers had an 88 tbird. Well after about 2 weeks I saw him workin on a 92 tbird getting ready to remove the engine. So i asked him what he was doin and he said he was taking the drivetrain from the 88 and swapping it into the 92 cause it had a bad engine. I asked what he was gonna do with the shell and he said he was gonna s it.
I thought the 88 shell may be just the thing for me to swap my parts to... So I let him know I was interested in the shell and after he finished the swap I gave him $75 for it. The interior is rough and there is some body damage that will need fixed but being a VA car there is very little rust. X

I have already begun stripping the interior. The wiring is a mess but im swapping all that from my sport. I have bought some raven interior parts from hcor's ebay store that will be going in along with the seats and the wiring harnesses from my sport, along with a TC rear with 3.73s and the HO swap

Well hey neighbor!

Always good to see a fox body rescued from the crusher....

Are you using this to get the sport fixed up, or is it a seperate project?

I see potential. I started with a pretty rough car as well. My Sport had lower 1/4 damage very similar to yours but on the passenger side. For $75.00, it leaves you plenty of room to work in the $$$ department, and if you already have most of the parts you'll need, even better. Toss out some interior shots as well. Are you married? If so,how does thew wife feel about it? Luckily my wife was very supportive which made the process for the Sport a LOT less of a headache.LOL.

Unfortunately I am afraid the sport is gonna have to be stripped and used to rebuild this shell. When i left it in PA there was already some rust that was gettin pretty bad and it has sat 3 years in the grass so I am sure it has only gotten worse.

Here is a pic about 6 months before I parked it.

BadTriumph do you have pics of your car on the forum? I have seen some nice fox body birds/cougars in the area. There was a 4 eye in nice shape in the shop for inspection a few weeks ago. There was a nice TC for sale at a shop in Williamsburg that was on 143 across from where my sister and brother in law lived for a while.

Vinnie, I am married and my wife knows how i feel about my sport and is just as frustrated that we havent been able to bring it down here as I am. She kinda just lets me decide what happens with the cars unless its an expensive purchase. As long as she has a vehicle that works and gets her and the kids around she doesnt question what im doing really. I am pretty lucky... As far as parts go I had accumulated several parts for the sport that havent been installed so Im just gonna swap them to this shell. I've got new swaybar bushings, springs, and spindles for 11" brake conversion.

I'm pretty sure you wouldn't have thought much of mine if you had seen it. The suspension and interior are all fixed up, but the body isn't much too look at. Yet.... There's pics here: http://www.foxtbirdcougarforums.com/showthread.php?29854-New-member....-well-sort-of

It doesnt look bad. Any time I see a fox I wonder if it is someone from here, whether it is in good shape or not.

I drive through Newport News every night and every morning since I work in Norfolk, so there's a good chance you'll see me flying down 64....

I dont venture onto 64 all that often.. I work at the Tread Quarters on Warwick and I have seen a few goin down the road in front of the shop. After I strip the sport there wont be much left thats not rusty.

that's fine with me.. i was raised by a body man lol and i'm not looking to drop a motor in something and run the streets, looking for a cheap body to sink at least 18 months into including body work, suspension work and of course another boosted motor build

let me know.. if you have no way of getting down to where you are, maybe we can work out some kind of deal.. i have a trailer
