Reverse Lights

It's pouring rain so I haven't done any in-depth detective work yet, but I thought I'd try you guys first. For some reason when I have my lights on my revers lights stay on, even in Drive and every other gear. No I have not plugged my license plate lights into my revers sockets-I checked that.

Sounds like you've got a bad ground. I had a mustang that did something similar... It was the high beams though. They glowed with the headlights and pulsed when the turn signal was on.  Turned out to be a rusty screw where the right side headlight grounded. I would look at your grounds inside the trunk first.

on the driver side of your transmission, there is a connector.

unplug it
follow the harness up to a small switch attached to the transmission on the driver side.
with your meter set to beep or ohms, measure across the pink / orange and Black/pink wires.

if you have continuity, the transmission reverse switch is stuck in the closed position.
If no contininuity, your problems is elsewhere so hook everything back up.

If you dont have a meter, but can rig up a 12v bulb then do the following.

ground the pink orange wire to the frame of the car.
hook up one end of your test light to positive 12v battery and probe the black pink wire.
if your light comes on, then the switch is stuck closed.
If no light, then your problem is elsewhere , hook stuff back up and report back.

I would take the switch out and clean it then manually make the switch by hand while checking continuity to see if it opens and closes.

Your car may not match all the color wires but for the most part, the application is the same.
