I have done a couple of 2-300 foot cell and satellite towers. I would do it, but not be very comfortable. I have been 75 feet or so climbing a pole. That sucks worse then the towers I have done. OSHA requires you to be tied off anything over 6 feet. You won't die, but your nuts and back hurt. Something I'll never do again.

you think OSHA is bad??  MSHA makes us wear a harness if anything is higher than our knee....  talk about some BS...  try wearing a harness with a sunburn :shoothead:

I have a huge fear of heights and started getting dizzy just watching that!

Edit: I watched this earlier but now it is gone!  That sucks it was a hell of a vid.

Since that one is gone try this.  Its on a totally different wavelength, but sure made me laugh.

Yep, that's it.

I put up a 40 foot Rohn tower for my wireless broadband the summer of '04....when I was up top mounting the trans/receive dish, I was about nerved out...I'm pretty phobic about heights.

Oddly enough, in June the fam and I were in St Louis for a wedding, and the day after, we went up in the Gateway Arch...I figured I would be the chicken-shiznit, but I had a hoot...Nicole was the scaredy-ass then lol.

But, no way in seventeen hells would I go up, (let alone free climbing) a 1700+ foot tower....for ANY money.

I *might* go up a hundred feet or so on the elevator, but that's about it.

have to try it atleast once, after the first time it probably gets easier. have to remember to not let go and keep your mind in the game.

There's no way I could do that, I get nervous just looking down from the 2nd floor.

I wonder what the pay is for that job.

My palms were sweating watching that video. I sat here in speechless amazement.

I literally couldn't do that for any amount of money. I had to be on top of a 40ft rickety scaffolding that was swaying back and fourth and I about had to call the fire department to get me down, lol.

No way. Just no friggin way.

Thanks for that video link, that has to be one of the most scary things I have ever seen!
