So the Tools at Expert Tire ...

can't put directional wheels on a car the correct way after they put new tires on the 'underbird.

So, I'll be making a visit to the same Expert Tire in the morning so they can right their shag up. Oh, and add air to the spare tire like was asked of them.

shaging tools.

I posted about their lack of intelligence of the ball joints before I went outside in the middle of the night and looked at them :)

I would check the ball joints if I were you. The MN-12s are notorious for ball joints going bad. I had to change all the ball joints on my 95 at 74,000 miles. It was not fun:mullet:

I just got done checking them. Looks like I'll spend some time on a weekend doing that. I'm thinking 3-4 hours tops, each side. I just need to pick up a good TQ wrench and I'll be set. Oh, and the upper control arms :rollin:

The tools @ Expert Tires are still gonna get the wheels right, and get the spare serviced, as requested. What the shag ever happened to having a little pride in your work and making sure a job was done right? :shakehead

The upper control arms are the hardest part of the job:hick:

blah, it's only hard if I have to leave TWICE to buy a tool I didn't have before I got started :rollin:

I had a store put one of my directionals on backwards - I noticed it before I even drove away though. You should always look over someone's work when it's complete before driving the car anywhere, even if it's your own.

My mom was over this past weekend, and in the process of putting things in her car, I notice one of her tires was facing the wrong way.  So, I walk around the car, and sure enough, on the other side of the car was another one facing the wrong way.

They mounted them correctly, but obviously didn't bother to make sure they put them on the proper side of the car.

Bad "tire rotation"? Also aren't there still tire safety issues (belt loosening) with crossing tires, even if they're radials? I have no idea how shops rotate tires but assume that most still cross them over.

Nope. Hadn't been touched since they were installed a month or so ago.

im with you on this, i dont care if i get paid $5 or $500 dollars an hour i still do the job right and with pride. i sure wish i could find a job where people did the same around me(friggin' lazy bums). :/

DUDE!! Look at the big picture on my ride thread! my wheels are reversed in the back vs the front. They were like that when I bought the car :rollin:

Now I have to get that fixed whenever I put new tires on it. Which will be like FOREVER cause the tires were BRAND NEW when I got them:rollin:

My wife (whom I love dearly, and pick on her feud with the 'underbird) was the one that brought the car out there. She had no clue about the wheels being directional ...she's not buttstuff about the car like I am, she only tolerates it :(

That is, until she needs it for some reason or another, or you to take her somewhere with it. Likely most people don't care for much more than the external of a vehicle though, or as some bogus symbol status only, so I'm not surprised.

Oh, no, even when it was my DD she hated it. She (technically) doesn't have her own car right now, so I drive her everywhere. And, oh, my god, she WILL NOT drive it. She is afraid of it. She's never driven anything older than 5 years old hondas/yotas/hyundais, so when something big and heavy and needs brakes gets under her, she's terrified. Hell, its hard to get her to drive my 96, and it runs great. But, now that its just sitting in my driveway, she hates it more. Yes, because she thinks its an ugly boxy 20 year old car{WTF???} and cause its a broken down 20 year old car. The second one I can understand a little lol
