Bolts needed....

I'm looking for the round head Torx bolts that hold the compressor to the bracket. I need 4 of them.

You can get away with a bolt and washer, even an allen if you want to get close.

I got it figured out.I went to Lowe's and just got hex head bolts. I wanted the round headed torx bolts,but,I'm done and happy.Now ALl I have to do is get the funds ($250.00) to have the conversion to R134 and system charged. The professional will mount the hoses.He told me he'd rather do that,I'm not arguing.

That's cool (or soon will be inside your Sport) lol

I was looking through my 3 or 4 big ole pans and trays of bolts...I think I came across on of those torx bolts you were looking for..

Vinnie, Don't you think $250 is a little much to have your ac converted to R134?

That's the high figure. I'll shop around.It'll include installing the lines,cleaning out the evaporator,the conversion,charging the system,and making Gayle happy.Her Honda has a/c of course,but the Sport doesn't,and she will NOT ride in the Bird in this heat.....can't blame her.

The place,"Olde and New" has a warranty and really tend to business.It's all they do.They did my friend's '68 Stang a/c conversion. I really hate to spend that much,but,it's probably pretty much on par with other places around here.

No need for bolts now,everything is done and buttoned up.I've done all I cna do.It'll be up the the pros now.I do need to clean the Sport now.She deserves it.

Vinnie, if they are paying for the lines, then the $250 is ok, I guess. But if you are suppling the the lines and they are getting that, that price is real high.

I have the lines.two of the three are brand new. As I said,I'll be shopping around,but probably will end up with those folks unless someone can shoot me a much lower price.

Vinnie, I'm just trying to help. Here in Ma. they charge $70 to $80 to service the ac, plus the R134, which costs about $20 per pound. Your car should take no more then 2lbs 8oz. of R134, new o-rings and springs will cost $20, 8oz ac oil will cost $12, $8 for the fittings, your cost should be no more then $150. Vinnie, I done hundreds of conversions before my buddy bought a ac machine, and done hundreds more since. If they are getting that kind of money out there for ac work, that is what you should be doing in the summer, the whole conversion takes less then 45 minutes.    Lopez

Thanks a lot.I appreciate any and all help.I'll let you know what happens.The R134 is about $7.00 per can here.Not too bad. Hopefully I will get out cheaper in the end than $250,but,choices in this part of Oklahoma are slim.
