so what intake will work best on our fox body birds with a mild built 302 carb setup
single plane
dual plane
i know with a single plane i can put a nitrous plate under the carb for a lil extra power butt not with a daul plane

Way more info would be needed to make any sort of recommendation. What cam , what tranny, what torque converter , what gears, how is the vehicle is going to be used /driven ?

Building an engine is all about the correct combination of parts , There is no actual "right" answer to your question , too many variables

stock bottom end.tfs stg 1 cam.gt40p heads ,aod trans with trangso hp shift kit,converter? rear gears 3.55,vac sec 600
if i go with a single plane then i wud prob get a higher stall converter
mainly a street car butt with a lil umph
the stock 84 engine is past tired ,blowby out every possible opening wont rev past 4k
im ready to dump the engine and f.i. and go carb setup

OK . This is just MY opinion , some will agree others disagree :D
but with what info you provided I would say dual plane along the lines of a Wieand Stealth or Edelbrock Performer RPM.

Again , my opinion ,some people dislike dual plane intakes in any cirspoogestance . I think they have their place in certain combos :D

thats kinda what i have been leaning toward ,most places say a daul plane is good from idle to 5500 as where a single is good from 3k up to 6500
and i dont want to spin a stock bottom end up over maybe 5500
shud i be worried about getting an intake with the rear coolant crossover?

I dont think the rear coolant crossover makes all that much difference, BUT given a choice in identical intakes with or without Id go with the crossover :D

What is your cams powerband on your engine, and who says that intake is only good for 3k-6500 rpm's on your engine? The more you let it breath the faster it revs and the quicker it is.

Weiand Stealth... FTW idle to 6700...best dual plane/street intake for a 302.....everybody I know runs 'em and those who don't wish they had...lol.

BTW, nitrous is a piss-poor idea for a stock worn-out '84 rotating assembly.

I used the Stealth on my Mustang. I would buy it again in a hearbeat. Way better than my Performer I had on before.
