turbo hood clearance

Got a turbocoupe hood with hinges from an '88 this weekend and installed it. Managed to put a superficial crack in the left hood scoop due to a/c bracket clearance (). Searched and ground down the a/c bracket, but I still hit on my high side a/c line. Car is a 1985 with a 5.0L. Do any other years change the routing of the high side line that might reroute for clearance so I don't cause more damage?

Could you not route it on your own, to clear the scoop?

XNo. The high side line is metal and wraps from the back of the compressor around to the front side where I'm having my clearance issue. The one with the red cap.

It's already bent down(adjusted) as far as it will go down as it just clears the top of the compressor

Do we even need that top bracket? 4 bolts should hold it in place

You could replace the a/c line with one from a 1987-93 5.0 Mustang...that would get you the clearance you need.

The stock hood is gone (part of the deal for the new one). I'll check out the mustang lines to check their routing and see what is needed to adapt it to the compressor as I think they use different compressor fittings. I'll keep it posted as I get a chance to look further into this. Thanks!

A/C delete and power steering relocation bracket. Thats what I did. You don't need a/c......Just a freeway and the windows rolled down.
