bad night for Melvin :( June 12, 2010, 01:48:01 AM Tonight i was hanging out with all the guys and there was probably about 10 cars all parked around (including one police officer) and a good friend of mine with a 88 fox stang came rolling up with his new, still under warrenty speed shop built engine...he said he felt like opening it up a bit cuz it was getting hot on the cruise route so i offered to ride with him down the super slab to air it out... little did i know what i was getting in to... note that this thing is just a built 3500 dollar engine with all that MAF stuff and nitrous hasnt been ran through it yet, although its set up for it. lol and an AOD that will shift crazily late....idk what does that. Anyway, five minutes later we are running up the on-ramp at about 65 mph and he stands on it, jumping it up to about 140.... thats easily the fastest ive ever been in a car lol, then we slow it down and turn around, of course he romps on it again and not as fast but still it shifts every gear at about 7 grand. finally we get to the off-ramp and i saw the oil pressure drop. we shut it down and rolled to the side of the road, knowing we screwed something up... we dont know what did it but my guess is another oil pump shaft or the oil pump itself, the shop will probably warrenty it because its their product, so he calls his buddy to come load it up and starts to get it on the trailer, what happened? well of course the car would hop and rip the front bumper off..... that wasnt under warrenty....all in all we went really fast, for a second, and broke a few hundred dollars worth of stuff, in a few seconds, and im just glad it wasnt mine for once....
