85 Cougar XR7 part out April 14, 2010, 09:30:37 PM Yep, I gave in. I just don't have the time nor the money to do it. It is a 1985 Cougar XR7, I had planned to swap a V8 in and didn't end up getting very far. The car has 86K on the body (as far as I know), I seem to have misplaced the title though:punchballs:. As far as the car goes it has a little surface rust and two rust holes I have somewhat cleaned up that need to be patched. The drivers front fender is a bit rotten and needs replacing. As far as what goes with the car here is a quick list.E6SE headspushrodsflexplatestartermostly complete gasket setexhaust manifolds302 torn down to a bare block with the full assembly (Just needs honed and bearings)2 sets of Head light buckets1 GrilleExtra header panel Cougar emblemTaillights and one extra lensMustang 5.0 driveshaft1 set of 8 hole Wheels (Thunderbird style) on the car and two extra that are separateV8 RadiatorFull serpintine system (I think)FanI really don't want to get rid of it but I need to. I cannot afford to rebuild the car the way I wanted and really don't have enough time to even get it running. I want the car to go to someone who cares as much as I do.The car is located in Tripoli, Iowa and I am really wanting to get $600 if at all possible but make a reasonable offer if you wish.If it doesn't sell it will more than likely be parted out. Please, someone buy it though. Thanks for looking! Quote Selected

85 Cougar XR7 part out Reply #3 – April 15, 2010, 08:30:47 PM Quote from: 86XR7project;318348Is that the consensus? This is a hard one. Not as many money parts there, and cars dont move fast around here. Money is the motive. Do what you have to. The interior should bring good money. Quote Selected

85 Cougar XR7 part out Reply #7 – April 18, 2010, 05:10:18 PM I decided that parting out is the drection to go, at least in that case I can help some of you out and I can get my money out of it. If anyone has any sort of insight into what is involved in getting shipping quotes and the sort I can start pulling parts and get the process moving. Thanks fellas! Quote Selected

85 Cougar XR7 part out Reply #12 – April 19, 2010, 09:02:05 AM Okay so I haven't really thought about prices. It really relies on how much shipping would be and I'm not 100% on how to figure that out yet. I will begin pulling it apart today and will write out a list of who is interested in what. The car (As I said) has 86K on it so most everything is in pretty good shape.Hcor- IIRC the buckles and their plastic are in good shape along with the outside mirrors, we will figure out a price as soon as I can.Hypostang- Thanks, I will try talking to Vin about it.Ether- They are Marchals85Cougar- I will pull the header panel hopefully today and I will try to hash out a price for you.I know someone had wanted the dash, I will pull that out as well. Thanks guys!:D Quote Selected
