Weren't there "Monster Miatas" with the 5.0L?  Perhaps not too difficult to swap in a 5.8L in the RX-7?

I've seen a gazzillion LSX-7's. It's at least different by going with a Ford unit.

those things are bad ass with a 5.0L HO in them.  lighter, better suspension,  and better brakes then the shelby cobras and a better top design if you get caught in the rain.

Stacey David (the original host of Trucks!) built a bad ass one on his new show: http://www.gearztv.com/projects/banshee.html
