OK well went out to look at it today and the cable had no slack in it at all???

Still got under to check if the bottom slipped off nope still on there??
I let it warm up and the gas pedal felt the same as it did before the other day, so I decided to take it for a ride. Drove it around for about half hour and it drove like nothing ever happened, got it up to 60-70 with no problems. While cruising down a hill at 45ish I put it into drive from OD and I felt it kick out of OD so thats still working?? Im stumped I know something must be wrong (or going wrong) but I can not figure out why it happened last week.

On a side note I did take a vid of the engine running and have a question you can hear the engine idle once I push the throttle you can hear the car hesitate and want to stall than rev any ideas.. video below

How's the fluid?I had an issue with an AOD some time ago,and when I did my fluid change,I added a bottle of Lucas transmission treatment. It made a difference. It probably helped free whatever valve or stuck part that was having the issue.I can't say it'll help you though, but it helped mine.Yours may function well for a long time now.Who knows. If you're wanting to go 5 speed, start gathering pieces one by one until you have everything.I did a LOT of trading and dealings when I was collecting parts. Well worth it.

The fluid was a bit low but that was a few weeks ago its fine now.. I have to do a fluid change soon though its been a while(not terribly long though). Im hoping it will function long enough for me to get all the parts I will need to do the swap. I need to get a list of stuff I will need and start getting them because I def want to swap it over.

You'll love the 5 speed.Time for a full length console and nice shifter.

The shifter will be easy.I have a stock one in the garage and a billet shaft handle if you're interested (cheap). Then you'll have your first two parts, and the fever for a 5 speed will start..The shift panel is what you need for the console, and the shifter boot (upper and lower).

Yep I had that white Tbird do that to me and I burnt out OD driving home. My current one did the same thing but I parked it where it sat and rigged it to where as long as both cables are being pulled on the gears wont burn out, so i limped it home carefully, and where the problem is is the little orange plastic holder bubble gets old and breaks off, letting the cable fall off. So put the end of that cable back up through the hole, get a vaccum line that fits it right, secure it, and get a clip to set over the vaccum to make sure it wont come off and walah, its like new, at least thats how mine is and its been like that for 7 months now i think.
I cant tell in the pictures but is that where urs came off?

If your fluid is low add some. Autos will do some funny stuff when they are low on fluid and/or die. Plus with low fluid sometimes the trans doesn't have enough pressure to even move.

Also I would run some codes to find out what the engine problem you're having is.
