Trans swap question

Good day all

I lost all but first gear in my 88 t bird aod last fall and have been searching locally for a replacement ever since
I have found one from a 92 sc but am unsure if it is actually the aode
My 88 is fuel injected so I am wondering if the computer would control the transmission too

A 92 SC is an AOD. Will swap right in. I know, I just sold one. it also has an A OD servo, which is the strongest factory servo.

Your trans is controlled only by the TV linkage at the throttle (on both your 88 and the 92). I know the SCs had a low stall converter (As the SC generates alot of low end torque). You might want to upgrade to something more 5.0 Oriented (or a stock 3.8 if you have the V6).

Up here in canada it's like these cars don't exist anymore

I'm originally from Michigan. They rust away, leaving only magazine articles and oil stains on pavement. Tis the curse of the auto hobby.

I moved down here to SA and i bought my 88 at a police auction for $300. There isn't a single millimeter of rust on it.
