I'm going back to work!

Hey guys, finally after 11 months of being laid off I got the call to go back. I talked to the boss on monday and was supposed to call this friday to see if he needed me to start on this monday comming, but he called today and needs me to start tomarrow morning. Now I have to go shopping tonight, I've gained quite a few pounds while being off and I need some jeans to work in. Eventually I'll get my uniforms back but until then I have to wear my own clothes. So wish me luck!!!

Great news.  Being laid off is one of my worst nightmares (next to an exploding water heater ...I hate water heaters).  Glad to hear your heading back.  Congrats!
My car is a gravity hybrid.  The gasoline engine gets me up the hills, and gravity gets me down.

Thanks everyone! It is a huge relief to go back, I was hoping to find something better while I was off but that didn't happen. So at least I can start earning some cash again. I was told they're pretty busy so I might even be able to jump into some overtime right off the bat as well.

For those of you that don't know, I work as a laborer in a machine shop. The job I'll be going back to is degreasing and pressure washing air compressures from trains. It's a hot, greasy, nasty job, that I did for 3 years then got away from because they quit sending them to us. I was actually happy to see them go at the time but with getting them back at least I'm needed again. The place doesn't really pay all that well either but I only have to drive 5 miles either way. It'll be nice going back to the same place in a way because I'll still know everyone, it'll be nice seeing everyone again, and the comfort factor with knowing the job is nice.

BTW, I had a 1988 T-Bird Sport way back when. I found out that it was totalled shortly after trading it in. It still has the ignition switch recall to date.

Special thanx to EricCoolCats for showing me to this site.

Thanks! Hopefully this means things are looking up. It would be nice if everyone that is out of work could go back.

That's for sure. When they lay off at my job, it's permanent. There are no call-backs. Congrats to you though!! Even though it may not be the ideal job, it gets your foot back in the door and you can work into something better.
