Selling Intakes...

Im about to get an H.O. intake and Im REALLY wanting a Explorer Intake.. Do you think I could make enough by Shining up and possibly painting the H.O. a desirable color and selling to someone on here or Ebay? and the old EFI one can be done too...just wondering if i could ake a few extra bucks to get what i really want?

You can make a little by doing that if you do good enough work. The labor that goes into it is a lot.Scour the salvage yards and find out what they charge for an intake assembly (get the explorer throttle body as well). The Explorer throttle body can be converted for use with our cars in a few minutes, then you have an instant 65mm t-body.On the Corral,a guy was selling off his stash of explorer intakes for a little over a hundred bucks shipped. Not bad at all.Do you guys have an Ebay account? If so,they can be found there really cheap as well. The prices are starting to go down now that most people who wanted one, have one.LOL.

My local pick a part has intakes listed at $21.  Lets just say for awhile I was the GT40 intake guy.  Its about the only good thing that cash for clunkers did.

I'm pretty sure people here are not going to pay a premium for a painted HO intake ;)

Yeah, not to piss on your cherrios, but, I usually can't give stock HO's away for $10.

By the way Thunderjet.  I spent 9 hours out in your neighborhood yesterday.  I HATE Ohare.

I live closer to Midway. The O'Hare area sucks to drive in;)

Lol well thats why i asked, i didnt know if there are any profits in taking the time to shine one up if i could only sell it for 10 bucks. Lol maybe Ill keep the H.O. intake and shine it up anyway just so when they come hard to find (Probably never) I can have it on the shelf and say i have one... hahaha yeah right.
