My youngest son (9) has been begging, seriously begging, us to let him change his name for the past three years.

He has at least two others in his classroom each year with the same name...Zachary. We only chose it for my wife's grandfather, and his middle name for her dad.

My oldest son (13) shares my first name, but different middle name, after my grandfather.

My daughter (turned 5 today) has a longer story behind hers. For short, we wanted to name after my wife's great grandmother, Elizabeth, but I liked Megan. We looked Megan up in a couple books and turned out that Megan meant 'Pearl', which happened to be Great-grandma's middle name. It seemed too much like fate and we named her Megan Elizabeth. Her grandmother died a few years later, but the happiness it brought her meant the world to my wife. I'm so glad we did.

Older family names seemed to be our top choices.

if your looking for something different... Dexter. Thats my first name, and iv never met ne one with that name. xcept dexters labratory :D and i think i heard of a tennis player once... but ne ways. and it sucks to hear my mom yell "Dexter Franklin!!" :rolleyes:

cuz i know it aint gunna be good... lol :D
