read the thread.. ;)

it's possable that it's just a basic casting. i never looked on my heads to see what number is stamped on it... i just saw that those where stamped 6025.. but i would just make sure what your getting before you buy..meaning valve size.. if he wants to much for them. it's not worth it since new ones are under $1300.00 shiped to your door step..

i would just out right ask him what he wants for them instead of the back in forth with make an offer.. ask him whats his bottom line..

if he wants between $600.00 and $800.00 cool maybe $900.00 tops and they better be damm good heads.. for that price used.. but any more i'd just say screw it and buy new ones..

I was thinking the same thing. Plus If I get screwed out of say $800 I can forget about getting heads at all this year. So I really can't risk it with anyone I don't know. I have little over 2 grand to buy heads, cam, rockers, push rods, gaskets, timing chain, injectors, and ma meter.... I'm reusing my cobra intake and 65mm tb.

While that is all true, you can buy the rockers off of ebay for about 100-150,you won't need hardened pushrods as the eddy heads don't require them and injectors you can pick up off of the corral for 100.00.
everything else i would go new,and in that 2078 est there was no price of a maf meter, used c&l will run you 150.00 with power tube.
So all that being said if you knock off 270.00 for the used part portion you can get your meter and still be able to afford the 100.00 arp head bolt kit you need for those heads.
As for the pics of those heads, they definetly have been sandblasted, decked and checked for cracks(pretty sure valves/seats have been done as they have been at the machine shop).
All in all they look to be mint, checked used heads,if he wants 750-850 i would definetly pick them up and save yourself an additional 500.00 on the heads and go get yourself an icecream with the extra cash you saved.
O and 6025 is stamped into all of eddelbrocks ford castings, they then take the casting and machine it for whatever application it will be used for.
I thought the same thing when i got my heads so i called edelbrock and that is what they told me.

One last thing, since the heads have been decked(and they have)you must find out exactly how much and then use the appropriate shims under your pedestal mount rocker arms to adjust pushrod height.

750 shipped,GOOD DEAL,i would buy them up.
Essentially your getting a set of heads that have had all the machine work done, are guarenteed flat and him throughing in the shipping is perfect.
As for the .005" decking,i'm not sure at what point you have to use the shims,if you talk to your local machine shop they should be able to help you out. :D

If you go to cranecams website you can get the instructions on how to install your rocker arms.
They say that when you torque the rockers down to:
Turn the bolt by hand until there is no clearance between the front roller and the valve stem with both valves in the closed camshaft position(compression stroke).
Slowly torque the bolts down to 18-20ft/lbs approx 1/4 to 1 turn.
If you can turn the bolts more than 1 turn to acheive torque you will have to shim the pedestal,a thick shim represents 1 turn.
That is basically quoted from there instructions i printed off.
