eBay decal purchase

Today I made an impulse buy on eBay.  I have been tinkering with the idea of putting some sort of decals on my valve covers and today I found these:

I think they will add a little spooge to my otherwise boring engine bay.  They must be off an older 302 hi-po.  Seems to me that some of the '70's model trucks had a 302 hi-po option.:D

Well at least I know they will look good now.  lol.  I doubt we ever attend the same car show Vin so no chance anyone will catch us.  Otherwise it would be like two girls showing up to the prom with the same dress on.  lol

That's funny.I had bought the ones like yours that I used on the engine above. The new ones I had custom made here in town.I changed the colors just a little. The Blue is still correct, but the "Ford" logo and blue box that it's in is slightly larger, and the background is a little darker.I'll try to snap a couple of pics later tomorrow.I also had some that have a "306" instead of "302" for a friend's car.I almost did a "5.0".I may still do that.I may have a bunch made both ways.

Well I am at work now but I can snap a better one later.  I went with the black/silver look.  A buddy of mine's family owns the company that makes the Hi-Lift Jack, so he ran my stock valve covers down the powdercoat line for me.  My engine bay is no show piece by any means.

Here is one when I was doing the HO swap...

My car originally had rear drums and 7.5 rearend.  I swapped in a 8.8 with disks and gutted my stock prop valve and added this one to be able to compensate for the bigger rear brakes.  The stock drum brake prop. valve is set up differently (more bias towards the front) than a car with factory rear disks.  I could have got an original prop valve from a vehicle with rear brakes or I could have done it this way.

And who's to say I'm not racing it? :D

It actually feels pretty quick for what it is.  Most of the driving I did was with the stock fuel pump and you could tell it needed more fuel.  I put in the 190 lph pump right before I stored it for winter, but that alone made a big difference.  The only other thing holding it back is my worn out AOD!

I need to get it on a track this summer and see what kind of 1/4 mile it will run.  I'm guessing possibly a mid-14 run is possible.  Which is pretty respectable considering when I ran it stock, it put down a lightning fast high-16 run :punchballs:..

are you using stock HO heads?  I think this is where I might have an advantage with the GT40P's

Yep 100% stock E7 heads cleaned up by my local machine shop.  I am running basically a stock HO but with shorty headers, full exhaust (2.5" off road h, pypes lers), smog pump delete, and u/d pullies. (oh and bumped timing, lol)

What do you think it would run in the 1/4?  What are your expectations on your combo?

Got the decals put on tonight...

I think they look pretty cool but will be shocked if they last more than a couple of months.  I think they will peel off pretty quick.
