does this sound like a good plan?

I have '97 Stang spindles, calipers (also caliper brackets), and rotors.
I've read here, and on CoolCats that the 96-98 stuff is better for lowered cars.
I'm planning on Mach 1 or Bullitt springs to give a bit of a drop.
I also know I'll have to use SN95 inner and outer tie rods.
Just wanting to know from a guru if this will work :D

As for the rear, I've thought about grabbing the rear end from the donor Stang, but according to Coolcats, it's a 7.5 rear. The Mustang is a v6, but I was pretty certain it had the 8.8 rear.
(Forgot the camera, I would've taken a pic.)

If that doesn't pan out, there's also 2 Mark VII rears, and I DO know that they're both 8.8's.

Assuming the Stang rear is an 8.8 as well, what would be the better rear to get?
I'm thinking the Mark's because it probably has a higher ratio (3.08?) against the Stang's probable 2.73 gear ratio...

Wait until you can find a Turbo Coupe rear with 3.55's or 3.73's.Don't settle on something in the name of getting it done faster. If you were closer,I have a spare in the garage from a TC.I'd sell it,but not ship it.Too big.

it is possible that the v6 mustang has a 8.8 in it. when i was working for a dealer, we replaced a few complete rear axle assemblies in mustangs for some TSB. all the replacement assemblies were 8.8s no matter what the car originally had.

the amount of suspension drop would hafta be extreme before a set of 96+ spindles would be helpful, if at all. the steering arm was relocated on the spindle to accommodate the lower R&P location of the modular engine k-member.

I see. Good thing I'm going back Sunday, and have the receipt. :hick:

If I'm able to get the locking lug nuts off of one of those Mark VII's, I'll just grab those rotors. That was what kept me from doing that in the first place.

Thanks for the links gumby. I should've googled, I thought if I lowered the car, they'd work ok. :punchballs::D

Im pretty sure you can hang a 86-93 8.8 outta a stang in there and then do the LSC/SN 95 Brake swap.  Someone correct me if im wrong though.
