A crossover pipe is supposed to help scavenging, IIRC.  My Merc came from factory with a crossover pipe.  You should see a more low-end power with it, the trade-off being a loss at the top.  An X-pipe should flow better than a crossover, eg comparatively more power.

If you lose power up top with a crossover, it's because the exhaust system as a whole isn't up to the needs of the powerplant.
Generally speaking, X-pipes will bring the max torque slightly higher in the RPM range than an H-pipe.

yes, the sound is the first thing i notice. a 5.0 with straight pipes sounds like a boat or old truck imo, with the x or h pipe, it gets a nice crack to the exhaust and has a cleaner more crisp sound. exp with aftermarket lers.

I have the 40 series Flowmasters, and actually, they are a little to loud for me.I'm planning on getting a new pair of Warlock lers again. They had a nice, deep tone, they flow great, and have built in cut-outs for racing.I wish I would've kept mine. For now,the Flowmasters will be fine,I have other things with the Sport absorbing my car funds,so,lers hopefully this summer or fall.I'm tinting the windows and having my seats done first.....oh,and getting the a/c working again.Like a foll I went a/c delete.I'll fix that.
