Motor Mount breaks AGAIN...oh the humanity January 18, 2010, 01:54:03 AM I've had my '88 Tbird Sport 5.0 for a year now, and my third new motor mount just broke. Are all the parts from the parts stores coming from China, or is my mechanic doing something wrong when he installs them ? I told him I don't mind paying a little extra for quality parts. Motor Mount breaks AGAIN...oh the humanity Reply #1 – January 18, 2010, 02:40:23 AM One of the mods here, ChuckW fabs motor mounts himself, and from what I have read here, they are a lot better than whats at the parts stores. Check out the vendor for sale section to see when he will make them again. Ohhh, the humanity.how is it broken exactly, torn, snapped?there are other reasons than lousy quality for motor mounts to break.you might want to look into that some before you go thru anymore.but unfortunatlely to answer your question... yes, they all come from china now :toilet:i wouldve rather pull used ones from the junkyard than the part store ones i bought. Motor Mount breaks AGAIN...oh the humanity Reply #8 – January 18, 2010, 09:09:21 PM I dropped a set of regular mounts in when I did my motor in 2006.....Chuck didn't have a batch ready when I was ready. I picked up a set about 2 months later figuring I'd throw them in once the normal sstyle mounts gave way.......The Chuck mounts are still in my garage wrapped up in their original packaging. I know if I hadn't have ordered them that the stockers would have gave way in a month. :hick: Quote Selected

I have 10 years on a set of stockers, but I did rig a "motion limiter" so the rubber insulator only has to stretch maybe 1/8"... Quote Selected
