Junkyard Finds 2010 Reply #120 – July 23, 2010, 04:24:18 PM Nope. I just stuck it back under the tree where I found it, heh. They wanted $75 for it, and I already have a TC hood on my 85. My 83 doesn't deserve a TC hood, lol. Quote Selected
Junkyard Finds 2010 Reply #121 – July 23, 2010, 04:39:44 PM Speaking of Tbird hoods... I have been studying the hoods of classic Tbirds. A couple of the Mustang hood scoops are indeed inspired by the scoops of the first couple of generations of Birds. So I will be looking into this come exterior refinishing time! Quote Selected

Junkyard Finds 2010 Reply #123 – July 23, 2010, 09:02:57 PM how about the scoop on the subaru outback wagon? I kinda thought it would look good grafted in. Quote Selected
Junkyard Finds 2010 Reply #124 – August 28, 2010, 07:51:00 PM Whew, major score at the yard today! Found an 83 that looked to have just had the front end fixed and then it got T-boned. Real clean grille, and clear turn signals!! Good thing too, since I cracked one of mine :( Now I'm thinking I should have taken the bumper cover, because it looked brand new and I recall now that mine is a little pitted. :(Pulled pretty decent tail lights off it as well, since the true chrome emblems on those are hard to find. Passenger mirror delete! Also unbroken console pieces to include a No Options panel! Car was EFI 5.0 w/ AOD, manual DS mirror, manual seats, manual windows! Oh yeah, snagged that seat track as well :DPictures later! Quote Selected
Junkyard Finds 2010 Reply #125 – August 28, 2010, 08:11:18 PM Nice haul.I hope to hit the yard again someday.Time has not been on my side in about a month or two. Quote Selected
Junkyard Finds 2010 Reply #126 – August 29, 2010, 12:28:58 AM Here are a couple shots of what I picked up. It all needs to be washed, but under the dirt are some very nice pieces. I think the worst parts I picked up are the mirror delete cover, and the center console panel. Both need to be repainted. The chrome on the grille is almost perfect, and the tail lights only have minor scuffing. Nothing's broken! That's why I pulled the trim panels, because the mounting tabs are all intact. Also, I posted awhile back that the manual seat conversion wouldn't save that much weight. Well, it may not be a lot of actual weight, but it sure is noticeable! After taking out my driver's seat to put the pedals in, and then moving this one at the yard, BIG difference. Quote Selected

Junkyard Finds 2010 Reply #129 – September 01, 2010, 10:54:03 PM Saw this on a 88 LS in the yard today. Dono what it is, I've never heard of it before. It was on both sides of the car and was one big block, not like somebody just stuck letters there. Quote Selected
Junkyard Finds 2010 Reply #130 – September 01, 2010, 10:59:55 PM Those are letters bought by people years ago that had a peel and stick back for one's initials. Not a special model of car. Quote Selected
Junkyard Finds 2010 Reply #131 – September 01, 2010, 11:02:38 PM Thats what I was thinking, just seemed wierd cause it was one piece not three seperate letters....Btw, this is what the engine looked like if anyone's interested.Note the semi-intact stock Motorcraft sticker on the air boxOh, and the overflow bottle was broken so don't askI did nab a front plate bracket off it:D Quote Selected
Junkyard Finds 2010 Reply #132 – September 01, 2010, 11:06:21 PM If I remember correctly,it was a one piece back that the letters fit into, then the "assembly" went onto the car. Quote Selected
Junkyard Finds 2010 Reply #134 – September 02, 2010, 10:15:00 AM Quote from: CoogarXR;329293I went to the junk yard in my new home town and all I could find was one 70s cougar, and one TC hood on the ground with no car to match. I also saw a wierd monza with a body kit. I know you guys might not dig it, but I kinda like monzas.I WANT that Cougar. The monza is actually a factory body kit IIRC for the Monza Mirage. Wow, im a plethora of car dorkness. Quote Selected
