Anybody drive an RS?

I was just thinking, it's been forever since I've seen an RS Cougar. Anybody have one?

Just wondering.

http://www.coolcats.net/fox/limited.html - About halfway down the page you'll see what I'm talking about.

I've only seen two in person in my life. A girl I knew drove a red one back in school, and I saw a rotted-out white one at a gas station once.

I just wondered if any of the regulars here had one.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

Even I haven't seen one for a long time...it's probably been about 10 years, maybe more. It was dark blue with white striping.

There was one that I saw on a regular basis around here until about a year ago.  4 eye.  Red.

I remember a good amount of them running around here in the '90's.

I was actually going to label mine as an RS when I was done. Only because it's not really an LS anymore, and not really an XR7 either. Other then the vin #, who would know.

Or maybe a DS (Daminc Sport)

They're just trim levels. GS is a base, LS is the midlevel, and XR7 is the top of the line. The RS was a sporty package (without really including anything sporty) that tied the Cougar into other Mercury products of the day.

if anyone happens to see anymore of these in the junkyard try to grab the build sheets and bucktags, those would probly be very helpful to understand how they were optioned and such.

Similar to the Capri RS (that is until 1986, in Canada you still got a Capri RS as a 5.0, in the states it was just a 5.0 Capri).

Ill keep my eyes open for buildsheets and bucktags.  I do alot of travel for work and in my off time i frequent new U-pull-its outta state.  And of course ill forward the info over to Eric.
