I forgot to mention, don't open all 4 valves at once. Open the front one air those 2 up then the back 2. If you open all 4 at once the front will hit the ground and the back will be like 2 feet in the air.

Pin 22 I think is the one that will start the air ride pump.
Pin 23 will open the vent and purg the entire system.

And if you want to have fun. You could run switches to the center consol to control all of this from the drivers seat. This was my plan until my Mark VII met its untimely death.

This may help some to.

Heh.. my next possible question involved perhaps using a switch or multiple switches to be able to manually trigger this stuff.. but that still involves spending money, of which I could just save up a little more and just replace the relay for now.

It's something I'd think about doing later on, though.. when I can spare the cash to goof around. (I would need to buy new switches and a bunch of wire.. supplies are a little low here) Right now I have to pick up some fresh gas for the Mark, some 1/4" hose to run from the schrader (sp.?) valve on the '88's fuel line to a gas can sitting next to the car, (going to pump off about 10 gallons from that car and split it between the other two) pick up new O-rings for when I clean the injectors, etc. Oh, and I can't forget cat litter.. :p

EDIT: I think that's the PDF I found last night. I saved it to my desktop.

Another dumb question.. where should I pull a power lead off of? I think I have this wiring diagram (on the PDF) sorta figured out.. but I want to check and make sure I don't do something stupid. (which is very likely) If I have the air suspension switch disabled, should I use a lead attached to its BLK-YEL line for power?

I see a set of wires (all BLK-YEL) coming off a fusible link, but I also see a wire (GRY-YEL) going to a fuse.

On mine I just pulled power from the trunk light or the power lead for the amps I had in mine.

So how should I do these leads? Just run a line off a power source and touch it to each pin in succession, or run constant power to a pair of 'em? (like 9-10, 11-12) Sorry if this is exceedingly stupid, I just don't want to screw anything up.

This connector to the air suspension switch looks like a good candidate for a power lead.. can just hook one of those female halves of a blade connection to it. (used up all the blades themselves.. heh)

Just out of curiosity.. if I ran a bunch of switches like you mentioned, (up to the console) what gauge wire should I be using?

It seems like the suspension is literally about an inch off the ground. I had to go under there today to pick up a socket I dropped, and.. ..

i could be mistaken but cant you just jack up the car? or maybe jack it up and release the purge valve...? my mark 8 had an issue with the air system and i jacked up the car and the wheel came down. might have been cause the actual bag was bad though.

if the system is anything like the mark viiis there are aftermarket controlers for the suspention. you can controle ride height also by physically moving the 2 front sensors up as well as the rear one. there is also a coil conversion to replace the bag system...

The car is so low I can't get my floor jack under it.. I would have to take a piece of 1x6 I have laying around (because I have no pavement to work on) and try to snake my '86's jack under it.

Bah.. I'm getting really nervous about my chances of hanging onto this car.

11 people watching the watch auction.. and one guy asking if we'd ship to Italy. I have no idea what extra work is involved in doing that. So far, no bids.. but the last watch went literally to the last hour before anyone bid on it, and it went for the $500 reserve. (but it's "NIB".. mine's used)

No bites on the 351 online, so we're probably going to have to get together Wed. and write up an ad for the paper.

Credit prices for SWG are down as low as $2.49/million. I was making $6.99/million (before Ebay and PayPal fees) last time I sold.. so these things are more worthless than ever.

Hell, I can't even mow lawns for the money or something.. there are too few houses in the neighborhood and they're really spread out.. I'd be driving the mower all over the place for maybe a dozen houses. Great for privacy, not so good for stuff like that.

I really don't want to sell the '88.. but I might be forced to.

I've even considered such crazy things as selling advertising space on the side of my '86.. inspired by this guy's "plans" but not so permanent:

Well, I was offered (unsolicited, I might add) some "help" paying the car off. I get the title in about an hour. That's one major headache off my mind.

Now to find out if I really do have this  disease.. *sigh*

Going thru the trunk of a recently-bought car can be fun. Especially when you find lots of stuff in little bags with Ford logos and part numbers all over them..

Was that stuff forgotten about or did the previous owner throw it in for you?  Either way it's a good thing!  What did you get?

Looks like it was forgotten about by the owner previous to this guy, who apparently worked for the local Ford dealer for awhile. However, last night when I gave him the check and got the title, I asked him if there was anything he needed out of it.. he acknowledged he had some tools in it, but said I could keep them.. and that I could even puppies off the (two sets of) A/C filler gauges for some money.

I can't identify all the gaskets.. but they're apparently all right from Ford. Of what I could identify: Valve covers, upper intake, oil pan, IAC, exhaust. My friend said something about valve retainers, I think? But there's TONS of stuff in that middle bag. To me it looks like an entire rebuild kit's worth of gaskets. No idea the value of it, but obviously I'm going to hang onto it. I would've taken a better picture, but it was almost dark by the time I remembered to take one.

OK, it looks like he was just ding gaskets and other shiznit. There's even a V6 EFI upper intake gasket in here. (E8DZ-9H486-A) Here's the other three part numbers, although this does not cover everything there:
