Factory Carpeting is heavy!

I got around to removing the Sound Deadening junk from the back of my replacement carpet that i got out of an '86 Cougar.

I knew it would free up some weight, But wow!
The Carpet weighs about 8 pounds now, Whereas the bag o' Junk Material weighs almost 30lbs!

I want the heavy carpet and sound deadener.Unless it's a full on race car, there's no reason to suffer for a few pounds of weight savings.I want everything to work, and when i'm finished,I want the cabin of the Sport to be really quiet.

I left the carpet sound deadener too.. plus I also put back the tarlike stuff on the floor before I installed the foil barrier. I want quiet in the car, as I'm flying through space and time. lol
