Got a new DD yesterday

Well as some of you know I had my Catera which I hated. It leaked multiple fluids, was not a peppy car by any means, had a silly hydraulic (Or something of the like) suspension system and was an ABSOLUTE pain to work on.

So I decided it was time to get rid of it. :D Heres what I had...

...and here is what I got. Its a 2000 Mercury Mountaineer Montarey (Trim?) and yes, it does indeed have a 5.0 :D.

I apologize for the size of the pics. I don't know how to resize...:toilet:

Any time someone upgrades from a GM product to a FoMoCo product, it's a good thing. Congrats!

Nice find. You should check the salvage yards for a good console door. BTW, do plates stay with the vehicle in IA?
2003 Marauder 300B
1996-97 Cobra wheel straight but weathered (For Sale)
84 TC manual shifter handle no  (For Sale)

BTW, I had a 1988 T-Bird Sport way back when. I found out that it was totalled shortly after trading it in. It still has the ignition switch recall to date.

Special thanx to EricCoolCats for showing me to this site.

Thanks guys, part of me wants that engine torn out so bad but if it ever gets Tboned or rear ended you know where that engine is going!! As for the console cover that will be fixed by my mother in law who is a reupholsterer, which is nice :). As for the plates, we also got my wife a car (PT Cruiser :() and the plates from the tera went on the PT and the plates from her Alero went on my Mountaineer. I love this thing but there are a few things that need my attention like the "Door ajar" light that is always on and the "check gage" light that comes on from time to time. At least I have a 5.0 again!
