Explorer recall letter came today

Apparently the problem with fires coming from the cruise control shut-off switch applies to 1997 Explorers too, even though for years Ford insisted it was for 1998-up only. I just got a letter today telling me to take it to the dealer for free service as soon as possible.

For those not in the know: the brake pedal switch on our T-Birds isn't on the Explorers. Instead they have a switch on the master cylinder that directly reads the fluid pressure. The problem is that it's hot at all times, so if and when it leaks, poof! you have a fire :flame:

Even if the car is off and parked.

I have to go to Dayton this week for work but I can call Garnet Ford on Monday to schedule a time to bring it to them. One more thing I don't need.
