Bring the asking price down to a realistic level and you will get some interest. I know you have the new motor and parts invested but... $2000-$2500 is about the range it might be worth. Esp considering the condition/color of the interior and the listed issues that need to be addressed. Cars with 5.0s' and even HO conversions in better shape have gone for the same or less here.

Not bashing ya buddy, just offering a little experience to help you out.

I understand that, and I appreciate you're advice, but the fact is that the car is worth too much to me to just let it go for that amount. I understand that it seems like a ridiculous amount of money for such an old beat up car, but what I am asking is merely for the price of the work that has already been done to it. If somebody had done what I did, and bought this car out of the blue for $1000 and then had to do all the work that I've done too it, they would be looking at a much bigger price tag, and a WHOLE lot of hassle. To buy this car in the shape that it is now in, would actually SAVE the buyer quite a few bucks (and time) vs. any other old cougar. The car is driveable, and I enjoy driving it. If I can't sell it for what I'm asking, then I simply won't sell it. I won't be upset about that. I will keep it and continue working on it until it is in brand new shape.

Thing is...people will only pay for work put in when it's related to say classic or muscle cars...

Regardless...I hope you get what your looking for or even better...keep it like you said and enjoy it.:D

$4000 for a V6...  WOW...  My 13 second '88XR-7 must have been worth $6000...  I sold it this summer for $1800.  I had $4000 into it.

Just because you dumped a bunch of money into it doesnt make it worth more dude.

and where did you get that you have to swap the Kmember and mounts for a 5.0L swap?  It is a direct bolt in on an '88.  Just need the harness and computer from the 5.0L.
I did the swap to this car:  http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2464895

I sold it for $2500

From my experience, if you can get 1/2 of what you put into a car as mods/resto/repair, consider yourself lucky...unless it's really something exotic and an equally exotic vehicle...

Please take what folks are telling you as advice and not critisism.  They are telling you the truth about market value.

In my case I've tried to essentially give my car away.  $500 or trade for whatever and I provided a list of what I need.  This car is a good running car with 107,000 miles.  It's just not worth anything.

Not a single response.  Of course if I was in Ohio or some other rust causing salt spreading area it would be gone.

On the west coast no interest at all.  A dime a dozen for rust free parts cars or fixer uppers.  My local slavage yard would take it, reluctantly, for free if I deliver.  Steel prices have dropped dramatically and no one is buying parts for Fox anything here.
