Front SN95 5 Lug Swap Clarifications September 18, 2009, 04:34:46 PM Just want to be sure on some things here, I may even be heading back over to the 'yard today to pick up these parts after i clarify what all i need to grab.Ok, So...Current Setup:Stock/Factory 1984 T-Bird Front 10"? 4 Lug Rotors and Discs.Donor Car:1994 Mustang Base10.5/11"? 5 Lug w/ Discs.I am using this:http://www.coolcats.net/tech/advanced/4to5lug.htmlas a guide. And here is my Parts List so far:Spindle (Main Assembly) x2 ~ 6.50 = $13.00Hub x2 ~ 6.50 = 13.00Rotors x2 ~ 6.50 = 13.00Calipers x2 ~ 6.50 = 13.00Brackets/Pads ~ 1.00eaBrake Lines ~ 1.00/FT or Use MineI guess my main question right now is, Do i really need to pick up the Ball Joints? (5.00 x2 = 10.00), Or are my stock ones fine? And do i really need the SN95 Tie Rod? (2.50/FT), Or will my stock setup work?Trying to be frugal here, so i can keep an 8.8 swap in the budget before they crush the donors. Also if theres any parts i may be forgetting, Or anything that may me attached to any of the above that they you think they may charge me for LMK please (Sometimes the old grumpy manager rings me up and nickel and dimes me for every thing). Front SN95 5 Lug Swap Clarifications Reply #1 – September 18, 2009, 09:59:48 PM UPDATE:Made a trip back over there.I then attempted to take the whole spindle assembly apart as a whole, Which was going well until everything was hanging by the balljoint and i realised i wouldnt be able to get it off without a pickle fork. :punchballs:At this time they were closing down, So i'll have to back tomorrow.I did pop the rotors off and get them. I also decided to get the WHOLE front brake assembly's and it only cost 13.00 for both! (plus 3.00 core). Also, One of the ball joints is in bad shape~So i'm hoping it would be OK to use my current ones. Quote Selected
Front SN95 5 Lug Swap Clarifications Reply #2 – September 19, 2009, 01:35:47 AM I may be wrong, but I think you have to use Fox-specific ball joints. Someone will bitch-slap me about it if I'm not right, though.I'd love to find some 5 lug stuff like that around here... Quote Selected
Front SN95 5 Lug Swap Clarifications Reply #3 – September 19, 2009, 02:00:40 PM fox balljoints are too long. that's why you have to a) use a spacer or b) use shorter sn95 balljoints. Quote Selected
Front SN95 5 Lug Swap Clarifications Reply #4 – September 20, 2009, 11:42:36 PM Ok, Thanks guys.Bad news though (For Me)...Wasn't able to get back there yesterday with a pickle fork. And today when we got back, The SN95 Spindle Assembly's Were Gone. :mad:And they tore the out of the Ball joints. However they left the Tie Rods behind, So i snagged those. So i have "Half" of an SN95 5 lug front swap. Front SN95 5 Lug Swap Clarifications Reply #5 – September 20, 2009, 11:50:51 PM you got the inners and outters, right? sn95 tie rods are metric thread, and fox cars are SAE. fox inners won't thread into sn95 outters. Quote Selected
