EGR PFE issues July 10, 2009, 07:52:20 AM Goodday allI have a 88 Tbird 3.8 that was parked for several yearsWhen I got it there were several mechanical issues head gasket, cooling system etc.The PFE sensor was melted on the bottom where the tube comes up from the EGR tubeI have now replaced the PFE sensor (at 140.00 can) to find it is melting the new one as wellI have tried cleaning the EGR valveAny other suggestions?Thanks in advanceKen Quote Selected
EGR PFE issues Reply #1 – July 10, 2009, 11:34:39 AM I had this problem. It ended up being that round bronze looking disk that was causing the problem, if i remember correctly. That and something to do with the exhaust. It was about a year ago, I'll have to ask my dad if he remembers and go look at the motor. I took the v6 out a few months after I did it, so whatever it is, I'm sure I can sell you super cheap, compared to what it would cost you to get one. Quote Selected
