I might agree when it comes to special models, like the Anniversary editions.. but for "average" T-birds and Cougars, I default to the "tastefully done" answer.

Now the question remains what each person considers "tastefully done".. heh.

I could go for the hugger orange as long as you left out the sunrise re and neon yellow stripes

I always wanted to see my '88 LX done in flourescent green, with hyper yella stripes right down the middle!  :dunno:  :barf:

Wow, that is nice. Used to be an orange '86 running around my area a few years ago...I really liked the color on our body style.

I think colors for cars are subjective. You ask people here, you're going to get a thousand different opinions on what's "right" or "wrong" for your car. My suggestion: use your balls and do what you feel is best. Stick your neck out a little. There is no right or wrong unless it's what you think.

I took my car--extremely rare, virtually irreplaceable, and what many people consider the "Holy Grail" of Cougars--and changed or painted every single ed part on the entire thing. Color-wise, I was tired of the ass burgandy interior and decided a nice off-white would be about right. On the outside, I liked the white...it's the original Oxford color. The silver was going to be newer Chrysler silver flip-flop but I was unsure about its lack of blue tinting, so I stuck with Opal Frost from the mid-1990's Mustang/Cougar/Thunderbird. They were the only silvers that stuck out to me; in the end the Ford color won. I also have a light blue metallic stripe that sometimes blends into the silver. That color is '84 Medium Cadet Blue metallic, left over from a touch-up job on my first car, an '84 V6 GS. I had sentimental reasons for using it (read: a tie to my past). Special reasons, special paint, a striking overall combination. Do I regret any of that? Hell no.

Unless you have a very original or rarely-optioned car, or are just trying to preserve the original appearance, go with custom. You will never regret it. Just choose your color wisely. I think a dark green will look very nice...seen it done a few times with great results.

Mmmm, that orange. If I had the motivation to re-do my whole interior I'd be pricing that orange paint right now.

Oh, the interior's not bad to do, I've only pulled mine out and put it back like 5 times, Even better, basically my whole interior was painted the day before I left for CJ (NOT RECOMMENDED)

way back when i was doing the paint scheme on my car i considered doing that same orange (that's why i like that cougar so much), but my idea was to camelion to a more yelloer colour as the light hits it.
